Decoding Cancer Metabolism

We strive for biomedical science through innovative research and collaborative efforts.

Biomedical Research Discoveries

Our Focus

Our lab focuses on dissecting the molecular, genetic, and cellular pathways that control cancer/tumor formation and function, with an emphasis on mechanisms that promote cancer progression and therapy resistance. We study how mitochondrial biology, cancer metabolism, and key signaling networks shape cancer cell behavior, including their metabolic adaptations, communication between organelles, responses to radiation, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment. By uncovering these processes, we aim to inform the development of more effective cancer therapies. Our research also extends to metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cachexia, and we actively involve undergraduate students in every stage of the research process.
